Moon, Youyoun

Teaching Associate Professor of Horticulture

I graduated with MS from Iowa State University (Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology) and Ph.D. from the Ohio State University. My teaching topics include, but not limited to, biology, plant sciences (physiology, anatomy and genetics focusing on medicinal plants), genetics, molecular cellular and developmental biology, and biotechnology. I am currently developing an "Adaptive Learning Technology” for college level STEM courses and “Virtual Reality” course modules for on-line courses. My research interests are to identify health promoting phytochemicals, to increase biosynthesis of target molecules utilizing biotechnology (CRISPR) and omics for enhancing human health.
